Replacing bait/livewell/washdown pump under stern deck.....

03' 25' aquasport explorer. The last time I took it out last year, no deckwash, and no livewell/bait tank water coming in. There is one pump that goes too all three. One hose goes to a valve, that is either bait, or livewell. The other fitting goes to the washdown. I'll attach a picture below. There is not alot of room to work, but I can reach it. I've never replaced one of these before, and was wonder how it comes out. Does it unscrew from the fitting that goes through the hull? Like I said, not alot of room to get to it, so I was hoping to get advice on how to do it the first time without experimenting. Thanks for any advice! Bill

The outlet that sticks out to the right in the picture, goes to the washdown. The fitting on the top going to the right, goes to the valve controlling the tanks. I'm hoping it just screws off just above the knife valve underneath it...yes?



I'd just like to mention, this is my 3rd year with the boat.  It's in great shape.  Just had the Yamaha F225 serviced.  Love how much deck space it has for a 25'er.  Really comfy with 4 adults off shore.  I guess, it would be nice to have twin 150's, but the would of added a bunch to the pricetag for a setup like that.  Tight lines!

You are correct Bill, the pump unscrews from the value. Remove the hoses and cut the wire and unscrew the pump.  Good luck.

Thanks.  Easy Peasy.  That one was pretty slick.  My one arm is long enough to get down there easily enough.  Also replaced the bait tank pumpout, as well as a more powerful washdown.  Getting the 2" (or there abouts) hose back on the 90 angle pipe on the maserator was a real bear.  That port side hatch is tiny, and you have to hold the pump in place AND try and stick the hose on it.  I had to remove the threaded 90, put that on the hose, then screw the pump on to that.  

Really like this boat.
