telescoping or folding t-tops
« on: May 14, 2012, 09:07:22 PM »
I am in the process of restoing a 1978 17'6 aquasport and was hoping to put a t-top on the boat. the problem is there are some low bridges in the canal to gain gulf access. I have found one made by taco that goes as low as 4 1/2'. but i may need it to either go lower. if anyone has an idea or good suggestion it would be much apreciated.

REAL low bridges, I'd say!  What's your clearance to the windshield at high tide, as the boat stands?

If you are anywhere near Venice I would go see Tim McChesney and have something made.

From his description, his locale almost sounds like PGI...

thanks for all the ideas and tips. I really dont want a bimini top and the lowest bridge has about 3' to 3 1/2'  clearance from the top of the windshield to the bridge. The boat is going to bonita springs when it is done but since I live on the treasure coast I will most likely need to find someone local to fab. something or tell me its just not possible. I will call fishmaster for sure esp. if they have done something like this before. thanks again
