215 Explorer Cover

Yesterday we had a rather nasty front come through and my 215's covers stitching came loose at the zipper, About 5' long of ripped stitching. I'd just assume do it myself, but have never takin on something like this. Any input or direction. A zipper is pretty easy location though. A mid seam, I wouldn't even consider it.
 Maybe a link to"How too", site. Or is it better just to pay the price and have a pro do it? Would I be wasting my time?

Sailrite has some great online videos.  You can view them directly on youtube.  The prices they have are OK.  What happened to your cover is typical of what I always see in my shop all the time.  The thread rots out before the fabric does.  This is usually due to UV damage to the polyester thread.  Not many companies spend the $$$ on expensive thread that will last.  Just get some good thread and resew the seams.  To make things easier you can tape the seams that came apart with seamstick (1/4" double sided tape).  If you have access to a industrial machine use a #92 thread.
