ignition switch sticking
« on: April 07, 2012, 08:10:34 PM »
Looking for some insight as how best to procede with replacement, it has what apears to be a lock nut holding it to the front of the key/throttle unit. Should i loosen and push it through & work from the under side of the console ? Or should i remove the four screws and tilt the whole key/throttle assembly forward and replace the leads  from topside.

Thanks

What I would do.  There should be enough service loop in the harness to allow you to back the key switch out and pull it down or up to deal with the leads on the back side...

Corner of 520 and A1A...

Don't know if you've tried this, but before you take it out, give it a shot of WD-40, disconnect the battery, and work it back and forth a few times.  Often that will fix a sticky switch...
