trolling motor help?

I'm buying my first trolling motor i want the riptide 80# thrust, besides the batteries is there anything else i need to order to rig it to my boat? all input is appreciated!

I like amazon cause I avoid paying tax and shipping (sometimes) and don't have to pay for gas to get to the store. You may want to purchase that trolling motor on amazon as well. No tax on a $900 purchase is some serious savings, plus possible free shipping.

I had that same dogbone mount for 5 yrs on my flatsboat with no problems, great mount and gives you the option of removing your trolling motor if you rig it with a plug.

I would lose the pins on the dog bone first time out...  My favorite is the big old MotorGuide slide mount - it's a heavy duty mount!  The new Minn Kota is a nice mount, but not as solid as the old MotorGuide.

I kept my boat on a lift and removed the motor just about every time I used it. If I didn't lose them, no one could!! I was conscience of possibly dropping one overboard every time, though.

It really is the most unobtrusive mount out there. On my skiff, the standard forward mounting holes were too far forward, so I had to re-drill it. My motor couldn't have been more solidly mounted if it were bolted directly to the deck. It still looked great when I sold the boat 5 years later.
