Electric brakes on boat trailer

Has anyone ever used electric brakes on a boat trailer? Do they even make waterproof electric brakes? I used to have a flat trailer that I pulled my little backhoe on when I did snow removal up north and they never gave me any trouble in that harsh, salty environment. Just wondering. I hate the bump-n-go of surge brakes and like the ability to control the brake pressure being applied.

I'd love to try it, but have NEVER seen a boat trailer with them.

There is electric over hydraulic where the brakes are the same as usual with out the hydraulic actuator, they work of your brake pedal not the weight of the trailer engaging the actuator, just like camper brakes or what you had on your back hoe trailer.

Yep.  Electric over hydraulic is fine.  Plain electric brakes like on a camper trailer will be fine until you dunk them once, then they are done.

Got the electric over hydraulic on my trailer. Going on 3 years now with no issues. Was a little skeptical when I bought the trailer from the manufacturer  especially with only salt water use, I do have flush kits on the brakes and flush with Saltaway after every trip.
