Pensacola Double Bridge Run
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:31:57 PM »
Ok Lew.... take 2.... you can explain that  I have pics now... haha!!

Well, JD, Mike, Lew, you guys met me, I was a pretty good sized boy, 6' 2" @ 272 or so.  I used to run long distance when I was active duty Navy, but after I retired the desk got the best of me.  Anyhow, the wife and I have been going to a local bootcamp style workout program, and since July I have lost almost 60 lbs and Susie also.  I ran the Double Bridge run 3 times before, back when I was active duty, but never thought I would see that day again. It starts downtown, goes over the 3 mile bay bridge, through Gulf Breeze, and over the ICW bridge for a total of 9.3 miles or a 15K.  So the pics below are from last May from our trip to Hawaii, then the pic of Susie and I are from Thanksgiving in Ft. Pierce out on the Inlet Jetty in Ft. Pierce, then my pics from this weekend. lots of sweat in the dirt between then and now.

WOW!  Great job Marc!  Great job!  I'll bet the both of you feel like a million bucks now!  Those military style boot camps are great.  I had done a few of them back to back some time ago.  I loved it.  Unfortunately they don't have them near me anymore.

That's something to be proud of Marc.  Hecuva job on both your parts.

Hmmm, I wonder how I could get my wife to boot camp?

Awesome job Marc and Susie!!! :thumleft:  :thumleft:  :thumleft:  :thumleft:  :thumleft:

Marc posted this the other night with a link to the pics from the race. The only problem was the link did not work, he realized this right after he posted and immediately deleted the whole thing. Somehow in those 30 seconds the post was up I saw it and tried to respond at that time. The site kept telling me that the post did not exist even though I had just read it. Anyway, I guess I was the only person this happened to so all is now well!!! :thumleft:

Congrats to you and your wife for that accomplishment :thumright:   That takes motivation and dedication.  Maybe at some point that will motivate the rest of us

Looking good :thumright:
