Bridget might comment on this, but "Act of God" has some very interesting legal and insurance definitions.  My wife handled claims processing for the western US for State Farm and "Act of God" was very rarely used.  Some of the definitions you might expect, some not.  Read your policy and you might be surprised!

This is Bridget, this is my 2 cents:
You are forgetting that most likely the insurance co. paid the owner of the boat as a total loss. Therefore the insurance co.
now owns the salvage.  The insurance co. will now decide whether it is worth their trouble to go get the boat or not.

The insurance paid out the loss, therefore they now hold title to the boat.

However maritime law states that whoever finds (salves) an abandoned vessel owns the vessel.

So reckon if Allstate wants this mayhem they'll have to go to Spain and negotiate the buy-back from the salvers.
