I stay in the water all year flat rate $1600 for the year with electric and water included. For my boat that works out to $57 and change a foot not so bad for NY.

Ok - starting to clear up now. We are quoting price per foot per month for storage down here in FL.  You guys are quoting yearly fees. So DT, your monthly fee would work out to about 4.75 a foot.  So actually WE'RE the ones getting ripped off.

There are marinas up here that charge between $60 and $150 a foot for summer dockage april to september then you pay for hauling and dry storage for the winter, so it can get expensive up here if you dont know your way around.

Yes,Rick is right, I pay $12 per ft per month. I wasfixing to mention that ,but you beat me to the punch.

Also, Capt Bob, on the fairlead: how far forward of the bow does it need to stick out to avoid the anchor banging on boat? Should I put a plate underneath the deck for strenght? and do you happen to know of good brand fairlead to buy? thanks again, lefty.

Lefty,
We use to buy our fairleads from Kingston Anchors...http://www.kingstonanchors.com/, excellent products, if you call and ask for Dave Gowans, he's a friend of mine and can assist you in the right choice of both the fairlead and the size/type anchor to use, given the size of the 215.  Just tell him Bob C from Proline sent you...

BTW, I would definitely use a backing plate on the fairlead mounts... :thumright:  :thumright:

Thanks for the info Seabob. A couple more questions and I think I will be ready to proceed with project. #1. will a  piece of 3/8 aluminum suffice for backing plate?  #2. Can I send a message to slvrlng/aka Lewis  on this site to ask for advice on cutting coring out of hatch and replacing with something else?  thanks again,Lefty

Question #1, yes, 3/8" alum will work great.  Question #2, go on any of Lewis' post, click on his name, it will bring up his profile and contact info.  Just click on PM and send him a Personal Message...

thanks everyone for the great info. I  will be pm Lewis for some advice on hatch and then be ready to start project. Truth is , I don't have $1,000 for windless as of this date, but, I figure it may cost that much to get ready for it when I do get money. I have sent request to Obama to opt out of food stamps for a onetime stimulas package to get windless! I'm going to look back on post and try to get that Photobucket thing going so I can post some pictures of My 215. The wife and I love it and can't wait for spring to come,

Lefty,
Might want to check out this Lewmar at Star Marine Depot...$523 with all that you need but the batt cables...http://www.starmarinedepot.com/Lewmar+C ... dlass.html

I deal with them quite often, so no worries there...

$525 for windless, thats great, I may can get whole project done for $1,000 .might not have to wait on stimulus check! thats great, My first mate (wife) and I like to go out 15-20 miles and bottom fish. We have done this for 3 seasons now and loved it. We mostly drift and always catch fish, but I'm gettting jealous. She getting more fishing time than me. We are both over sixty now and just don't enjoy deploying anchor and pulling back in by hand. I think this is going to be a great addition. thanks again, lefty
