We used kerosene fed torpedo heaters at Proline, they work great, never noticed the odor...

In my shop?  I put on another sweatshirt...

I use a couple of the torpedo type Kerosene heaters to heat up my sewing room when it gets too cold to work with the vinyl.  There is very little smell.  I used to use jet A in them when jet fuel was less expensive than Kero.  You can run diesel in them but that usually smells.  I also use one of those propane fired heaters..  works good..  no smell  but uses a bunch of fuel and the heat seems to just go straight up to the ceiling.

Good mornin,

I use a kerosene heater in my one car garage. I have a standard "R2D2" looking thing, it has very little odor, and after an hour of it being on full blast, you could bake bread in my garage.

I grew up with these things all over my house.  Never had an issue.  My step-dad kepy a 55gallon tank in the basement with fuel that would last the entire winter.
