Do you recommend I plug the deck drains as well.

As I added the photos, I reread your post. If you realized you still need the thru hull drains, my bad. If you were asking about that then see below. I do encourage the use of the expansion "T" handle plugs but that is strictly a matter of choice. The good thing with them is that they are easily removable and work well at keeping your feet dry in the back of a CCP.

No, you'll need those to drain the deck. You need to get the cockpit drains (2) with 90 degree bends on the bottom (right side of photo). Then add the length drain hose to reach the thru hulls (center of photo).

 
The plugs I was referring to are the rubber expansion type

that I placed in the cockpit deck drain holes when launching. This kept water from entering the deck area because of the lowered stern (think steep ramp) at this time. Some use them when multiple fishermen are working the stern and again the deck becomes lower than the waterline. Once underway, you remove the plugs and any residual water drains overboard. Water will always drain off the deck (assuming the drain is clear) as long as it's higher than the outside waterline (elevation) so when docked and it's raining, the deck self drains.

Good news boys, thanks to SeaBob the Osprey found a home and she's on her way to Sarasota as we speak. The guy that took her is going to redo her. I told him to give me picks when he's done. I'll post them up, down the road. Now... On to the CCP. Finally.

Circle, I am the proud new owner of SaltWaterAssassin's 1987 Osprey 200 and I love this site. I have been lurking around here since 2005,  just don't post much.  I have swapped a few hulls on here over the years and now I have one that I think I will be holding on to for a little while.  The model is new to me so I am sure my post numbers will go up sharply as I put her together.  I will be looking for parts and guidance from all the regulars so please bear with me as the project moves forward.

Oh and by the way....THANKS JUSTIN!!!!!!!!!!!  Not for just the deal on the hull but also for all the help in getting her to her new home...........

Well it took me a minute to figure out why you posted this (OK so I'm old) but after re-reading the thread..........
AH HA!

OK, so your model does not have the displacement style cockpit drains that CCPs have (I had to go back a page to figure why you posted). It doesn't solve why Fearless Leader found a plugged hole in his EX but maybe it was an "oops" from the factory. :o

Also, you have the same hatch covers in the transom area as I have. 8)
I'm currently replacing mine with ones that will keep a little more water from entering through those hatches. Unlike yours, Mine face forward and spray/rain gets through more than I care for.
