1966 222 cc?

I found a 1966 22 cc forsale in my neighborhood, the guy wants $1500 and it comes with an a mid 80's 200hp evenrude. does anyone have any input on this boat? would it make a good flats boat aswell? any input is much appriciated! thanks!

I did not think the AS flatbacks started till 67 but it could be an early one

boat, motor and trailer for $1500 sounds like a good deal,you will need to examine the boat closer to find out exactly what it is.would make a great resto!good luck! :cheers:

the article states an 8" draft,that is a great piece of research boys,nicely done.nice that we have this info readily available,46 years ago! :salut:

Flatbacks like that one make a great flats boat as they run crazy shallow and float shallow too. If its an original boat plan on alot of  work though. Any 46yr old boat is gonna need work but take it from a flatback owner I love mine and it was well worth the time, money and effort. I paid $2500 for my project boat with a blown motor and original trailer, Flatbacks are getting harder and harder to find.

The above article that Rick posted and CB retrieved is a treasure trove of information regarding the 22-2 flatback specifically and Aquasports in general.

Design, construction, recommended power, top speed, fuel economy (amazing), draft, self-bailing ability (and lack thereof) is discussed, plus more.

The author stated that it was the best fishing boat he had ever tested.

It is a shipmate "must read." Enjoy.
