Motor Shaft Length
« on: September 08, 2011, 03:26:51 PM »
I have a 17', so I know it is a 20" shaft, but does the 19' also take a 20" shaft?
Thanks

Yes.  You don't start getting into 25" shafts until you see deep vees...

Thank you bob. I forgot to mention that it was a 1973. I didn't think any of the CC's from the 70's used 25" shafts, but I have been wrong before. I'm looking at a 19 (pic), and I would put the motor on another hull, and then redo and re-power. But the other hull definitely takes a 20" shaft motor.

The 222s generally have had 25" transoms, at least from the late 1970s, but the 20 footers on down have been 20" transom height.  As Bob said, all the deep-V outboard hulls have 25" transoms.

Yep the 19's are 20 inch.

My 1983 222 has a 25" transom with the 12 degree deadrise.
