Woody Non-skid Wax
« on: September 09, 2011, 10:49:48 PM »
I know that this product works great on brightwork, but I was interested in knowing if anyone has used it on their non-skid?  If so how did you like it?  Slippery?

Blue,I have used it on non skid, not slippery if used as directed, use sparingly, spread on a wet deck with a brush, the starbrite deck wash is a good product too.the "secret" with the starbright is to wet deck, squirt cleaner, scrub in,let sit for 10-15 min, scrub again and rinse,it has teflon in it and helps repel stains. :salut:

Somewhere along the line I saw a comment on here about Penetrol on non-skid decks.  I found some at the hardware store and tried it.  When I first wiped it on a 'test' area, it seemed oily and I was worried about it being slippery but it 'dried' (or absorbed).  Actually I think the floor is grippier now, and it comes clean with a hard spray of water.   I have a '75 with the original deck (light gray-greenish).  The only way I can describe it is, it seemed to make the fiberglass look "alive" again...a little better color, a little shinier.

Very easy to apply...I cleaned the deck first, then just used an old rag to wipe the Penetrol on.  I can do the whole deck in about 15 minutes.  Also very inexpensive...I have Woody Wax but I use it for the metal, engine cover, etc.
