I paid $6 for a year but haven't sent off for the little emblem yet since the boats not finished.

One thing to consider before you put the antique emblem on her is technically we're not in full compliance with the requirements since we are not running the original vintage power that matches the hull year. I opted to not install the sticker that would draw attention from a savvy law enforcement officer and a possible Q&A session about the legal status. Let sleeping dogs lay and just take the discount and just run the standard issue decal. Just my $.02

Very interesting point Farley, I re-read form and I do not interpret one of the requirements to be "original power plant".  These are the requirements"

To qualify for the antique status, the vessel must meet the following requirements:
A. Powered by its original type power plant
B. Used for non-commercial purposes
C. Vessel must be at least 30 years old

I interpret the first requirement to read original "type" power plant, with "type" being the key word. Rick, I think you would be fine with the antique sticker on the boat. But Farley makes a good point, who wants to waste time debating with the officers.

Page 2 of the application defines what "original type" means.

I don't think it would ever become an issue unless we got involved in some sort of above average violation where additional scrutiny would be necessary which in our cases I don't see it happening. 99% of the guys I know don't know a '73 from a '93 outboard vintage. We were out the other day and I pulled up to a local park to let the sweetie relieve herself and a local guide came over talking about the boat and the year etc, and couldn't believe how clean those "original" engines were. I finally told him that those "new" engines were only 20 years old so he didn't even know the difference...
