Well, since this post is "addressed" to me, I'll take a stab at it.
First, all your hosing is most likely original. None of it is going to "come off" the various barbs unless you want it to. In fact, if you were to try, you'd probably find you have to cut the hoses off, as they take a "set" on the barbs, sometimes even a heat gun doesn't work. Anyway, your main concern for safety's sake is the barb on the pickup. If you stick your head in the starboard side access door and look down and to the right, you'll see the pickup...and the shut-off valve on top of it. However, reaching it to turn it off (should the need arise) could be problematic, as it's a long way down there. Give it a try. If you can't reach it, I recommend cutting an access hole (pie) in the aft wall of the fishbox. Doing this will also allow you to service your bilge pump and float switch...
