Looks like a mix and match motor. If it were me, I would try to get it running. If it runs, it will be slow. But run that engine until you are tired of putting time and fuel into it. Then upgrade to a modern engine. I think I may have a starter for that engine. Does anyone know if a starter off a 1988 88 special will fit his. If it does, pay shipping and it is yours! Also it looks like it has not been over heated. I don't see any melted plastics and corrosion on the block and bolts is not too bad. I have said it before...those are the small block 350s of outboards. You can beat them up and they still run.
Hey what give with those colored and underlined words???????? I'm not putting them in.
Okay.... What do you guys think about this motor? It is a '77 Evinrude 115. We have already checked to compression, and it has 95-97 psi on 3 cylinders and around 103 psi on the fourth. I know it's 5 years older than the 140, but it's also pretty clean for a motor of that age and is 100% complete.Does anyone have any experience with these motors? Are there any things that I need to be concerned about or look for with this particular model?
