03 205 Osprey with a 175 Johnson Bombardier
« on: June 23, 2011, 07:18:43 AM »
I'm about to buy this boat and figured this was the best spot to find out information about the boat and motor being that was the standard size motor.
Now two things concern me about the boat; 1) opened up front and floor hatches and there was a significant amount of water, seller stated he just washed the boat and the water was from that  2) 175 Johnson Bombardier - a carburetor motor but only states about 30 hours of use.  I'm concerned on the fuel mileage being the aquasport is a heavy boat.
The boat is extremely clean!
Any feedback is appreciated.

Can't tell you a whole lot about the boat specifics, but if it's that clean, it has probably been taken care of.  The newer BRP carb'd engines are fine, I have a 2003 90 HP, runs good, and pretty quiet actually.  Fuel mileage, well, its a carb'd 2-stroke, probably in the 1-2 MPG range, but your not driving it every day.  If the price is right, it sounds like a nice rig.

If he did wash it, the water should have immediately drained. Ask him to address the clogged drains/hoses.

Keep us informed, tx.
