Having owned mine for 3 years, I don't think you will find a 20 footer much better than the CCP.  I have been in some pretty rough water with mine and she did great.  Just have to take it easy as with all boats in rough water.  As you know, having an older boat will mean more maintenence.  If you don't mind that, I think you would be pleased with the 200 CCP.

My main advice would be to sea trial it and see for yourself.  I would even go as far as doing a sea trial in some choppy water and then you will have a first hand account on how she rides.

JD, out of curiosity how does your boat run?  I assume with the deep V  she can handle some sporty seas.  I haven't gotten a chance to take her out yet so I wanted to hear other opinions.  How does she drift in the back?  Is she a wet boat? Just your thoughts.  Thanks

I bought JD's 200 CCP when he upgraded to the 222 CCP.  We have been fishing out of this boat together since he bought it and have never had a problem.  We have had, with the 2 of us (both bigger guys) standing in the back and getting our feet wet.  I will say that we got hit with a huge rogue wave large enough to go over the T-top and flush the entire deck, after a short shock wore off, we powered up the engine and the water was gone in 15 seconds or so.  The boat handles well in the water, but the single axle trailer is borderline for the weight.  I have been thinking about adding another axle to my trailer to better handle the weight of the unit.

The fact that I bought JD's 200 and he bought a 222 should be a testament to our like of the Aquasport CCP series.

The hydro steering was a huge plus for the boat!  I will be adding the trim tabs soon!!
