Anyone thought about or actually installed gunnel padding?

For you 22 or bigger guys and gals, anyone have any input on this? I am going to have to either pad my upper legs (like wear a cricket goalkeepers kit?) or put in some gunnel padding of some kind. I might try to cook up something modular that could be removed, but I wondered if anyone had any experience.

I have thought about it much. A day of fishing with our crazy chop and my old knees are beat up. My friend had some made for his Grady for about $100 each. I would guess they are about 6 feet long each.

Do you know how the cushions are mounted on the Grady? I wonder if I could put some snap fasteners onto the cap? Thanks.

Yep. I'm too old to remember all those terms.
I think on the Grady one can reach around behind the bolsters but I'm not sure. I'll look when I get a chance. His boat is in my yard but it has a really heavy full cover on it and it's a pain to get in there. He has it tied down like I would for hurricane prep.

Steve,
The Grady-White has access to the backside of the bolsters.
