twin rudder alignment

looking for info for  twin rudder alignment on a 29 aquasport  .Should rudders be parallel or toe in or toe out and how much toe should they have .Boat has twin crusader 320hp engines, thanks  , Jeff

I can point you towards twin outboard toe in or toe out; but thats probably apples and oranges. I've never seen anyone adjust rudder toe on inboard twins, but it is logical to think its just as important.

here is some info on the subject,they say to have them parralell,I would call a good prop shop, good luck

1/2" toe in.  In other words, if the spread at the leading edge is 48", the spread at the trailing edge should be 48 1/2".  But, as with all boats, every one is different.  You really have to play with things to get it set up for your boat...

There are a number of variables when it comes to setting up your boat for maximum efficiency, whether it be cruise speed, MPG, WOT, manueverability, whatever.  So basically, since we don't have the specs anymore from the time when your 29 was built, you just have to play with things.  Start at no toe, in or out.  See what you think, check your numbers.  If you're happy, leave it at that.  If not, go to a little toe-in, repeat the tests.  If the results are better, stick with that, if not, go to a little toe-out.  See what happens to the numbers...and, of course, the handling.  Hardover at speed and low speed maneuvering around the dock.

Eventually, you'll find the happy medium that suits all your needs...but you gotta play with things...

And then there are props!!!

thanks seabob4 i will go that direction with the rudders ,my props were tuned for max speed to fuel used on the boat and that is 22knots at 3200 rpms the person that did them took me out for test runs to explain to me what he was doing and the starboard prop needed a slight more cup than the port side did .he tuned the props for wide open throttle to engine specs. for rpm  thank you for the info .
