« on: January 25, 2011, 10:21:27 PM »
im trying to find the value of my 1974 170 with a 1976 135hp v4 johnson (its a sexy moca colored johnson). im not sure if there is a blue book for boats or is it just what you are willing to pay for it. by no means am i selling my 170. i love it, im starting to think my wife hates it and this site cause i spend all my time between the two.    :colors: if anyone can help me with a value of my boat or as my old man says my hole in the water to throw my money in.

So lets back up a bit, How does the boat perform with a 135 on it? I have an 85 on mine and it runs on a fps right at 39mph.

right now its running at 40 on gps. she needs to be de-wet foamed and i just put a whale tail on it to see if it helps pick up the speed.

So how did the whale tail work out for you? DE WET FOAM? What is that?  I see you are planning a gathering in June, I am considering attending. I have never been to that neck of the woods (water) I will need to get some pointers from a local. I will be in Northern Minnesota the last week of May fishing (hopefully catching) and will need to stop at home to drop off insulated clothing and pick up wife, bikini(hers for her) and sun block. Sounds like a great time. (Looked on google map )

I think he means the foam in the stringers is wet and she is a little heavy.
