when did the 19-6 deck change?
« on: February 04, 2011, 08:08:22 AM »
I have been researching, but can't seem to find when the deck/cap style changed on the 19-6.  Could someone help me out?
The lines of the early 19-1 and the early 19-6 appear to have a flat(er) cap around the gunnels than the later boats, and that is the style I am looking for.  It seems somewhere in the late '70's the cap is quite raised, but what year did they change?
Helps when shopping for a hull and there are no pictures available.
Thanks in advance for the wealth of information!

With the 19-6's it was 1976.  So, 1975 and earlier models had the flat cap and recessed gunnels.

All the 19-1's will have the flat cap and recessed gunnels. I think the 19-1's were only in production a few years, then replaced by the 19-6.
