Adding a Pedestal Seat
« on: January 16, 2011, 10:40:49 PM »
My Aquasport 215 DC ame with a factory lounge seat and I would like to replace it with a Garelick 420.  I have used the Garelick stainless togglers on my old boat and was pretty pleased with the way they worked out.  My questions is, Is there any way to gain access under the floor to through bolt without buying the togglers.  Is there anything under the passenger side seat that I should worry about when drilling.  Finally,is 3-m 4200 sufficient to seal the holes I drill for the pedestal base?

SeaBob will probably confirm from the build aspect, but there shouldn't be anything directly around the chair base.  I would put a 6" access pie-plate just behind the pedestal and reach in and thru-bolt it that way, and 4200 is good for sealing it up, make sure you get a good amount around each bolt hole.  :thumright:

Its a real pain not having the boat here to measure things.  Anyway, does anyone know what size pedestal I have in my 99' 215 DC.  The package seat I found from Garelick somes with a 15" pedestal.  Just making sure before I order.
