Do you guys have any experience with the ride quality of the 22' modified V hull?
Thanks.

Your hull should run well. Get her on plane, and judge. A boat for every sea, and a sea for every boat.

She'll run bow-heavy....that is, as the crew weight is forward on this hull, thus she'll run. Prone to digging.

Not a problem though...adjust accordingly, keep her tabbed up, bow high, especially in a following sea.

If it's anything like my Explorer it'll definitely be bow heavy.  I still am learning how to trim my Explorer for best ride.

Thanks for the replies.  I'm interested too if there is any noticeable different between the deep v and modified v hull design.

Curious,

Yes, there is is a noticeable difference. The mod-v runs good overall, but in general is not an offshore winner. The deep-v was meant to run hard offshore.

The mod-v draws little water, and is fuel-efficient. The deep-v will pull 18 inches min. at rest, and need larger hp to get up and run, and be responsive to throttle.

There is no perfect boat....however, a modified-v can serve many applications adequately, with limitations.

Just a matter of how you choose to use her, the majority of the time.

Thanks for the reply.  I was pretty sure that was going to be the case.  The boat will be used for puttering around inside an enclosed harbor, watersports, nearshore striper, bluefish and bottom fishing and the occasional fair weather run 20-30 miles offshore on a calm day.  I know there will be some compromise in ride quality with modified vs. deep v on a choppy day but I think it's probably worth the sacrifice for the fuel/engine efficiency.
