1994 Aquasport 250 explorer fuel tanks sending unit
« on: September 29, 2010, 08:02:59 PM »
Hey folks, I am nearly done with all of my rewiring and several other things to get the Aquasport going strong.  Now I am trying to find out how to find a sending unit for the aft fuel tank.  The sending unit is bad and it is a cylinder type.  Are there baffles in that tank to prevent from using a universal one?  I have to replace it because we pulled the tank and pumped all of the bad fuel out.  Where can I find a unit that will work?  I cannot find a parts list anywhere.

Thanks for the reply.  I guess I need to measure the tank for depth to get the right one. I really wish I had a parts manual somewhere. This is tough.

Well,
I don't know if a "parts manual" ever existed for your boat per se.

My personal experience with these boats is that you learn as you go. This Forum is a good source of info that has been gathered by the trusty method of remove and replace so many members have a good working knowledge of what's what with most of the various models.
Maybe I read your original post wrong but I was under the impression that you removed the sending unit. You knew the "style" so why don't you measure that one.

Let me guess, you threw it away.

Good luck and welcome aboard.  :salut:

If it's a cylindrical sender with the float that rides up and down the center tube, it's probably a WEMA sender...

Hey Buddy
Rick asked me to contact you concerning your 250 Explorer fuel capacity which is 149 gal. main tank 50 gallons fwd tank.
I have the same boat & I'm in need of a fuel sender as well. Haven't started lookin yet. As you must know already it is a plastic tube encasing the flote only one you can use. Let me know if you find one.
Thanks CaptAqua

Look something like the obsolete models shown at the bottom of the page?

I would venture a guess that one of the upgraded models would work.
