list to starboard

2002 AS 215 Osprey Sport.  200 merc. Saltwater, dual batteries on starboard.  For some reason I have a list on the starboard side. Checked out water issue; none to be seen even after I pulled out the rod holder panel.  Anyone else have any problems?  There is a 2000 215 3 slips over from me,  no problems on his.  His stern sits higher than mine out of the water and he has a 200 Johnson.  Any idea's out there?

Does the boat stay in the water all the time?
When and if you pull it is there a lot of water in the bilge?
When its out of the water does the drain drip for an extended time?

Sounds like water is in there somewhere. Pics would help. Could be water in the stringers.

How bad is your list?  You have both batts on the starboard side, try pulling one out and setting it over on port, take a look at the back of the boat and see what that does...

I know that sounds kind of simple, but it's worth a try.

Boat has been on a trailer for quite a while.  Bought it out of Wisconsin, only has 24.6 hours on the engine.  Had it transported here to N.Y. Washed it down a few times, top to bottom,  inside and out.  Definitely got water everywhere.  Drain plug has been out all the time except when I put it in the water.  No drain holes plugged that I can see. Pulled the starboard rod holder out and checked below;  no water.  Gas tank is half full,  8 gal. water box is empty, fish boxes empty etc.  How would water get into the stringers?  Every pic that I have seen of the boat,  whether it was at the owners house or at the dealership that it was sold out of,  the covers have been on.  They were off when being transported;  3 days in the rain.  I'm keeping it in the water at the local Moose Yacht Club.  Have to paint the  bottom (yuk!),  but have no choice.  Can't find a water line until I get this situation rectified.  Did I see somewhere on this site a 2003 215 Osprey Sport with batteries in a different location;  did they change the placement of them somewhere along the line?

I posted the same Q about my 225 EX 2001.  I feel the cut out for the transom door on port, batteries on starboard and the helm and sink area all on starboard equates to a boat generally off balance.( at least on the 225).  I had to raise my water line and in the process found the water line on starboard was 3 inches higher then the port side- all sorts of F'Uped.
 I too found no water in the bilge. I would love to know how water gets in the stringers? Sinkage?

Some AS models are sensitive to list, and often moving 1 battery will fix the problem.  It will also improve handling by moving the polar moment of intertia to a more central location*

my 225ex also list to starboard, i dont have sink or freshwater system on the boat, 4stroke motor with two bateries  center of hull. It seems to be about 40- 70 lbs off off balance, no water in hull and less the 70 hours on boat.

Hi all,
My 02 22.5 Explorer also lists to starboard ~2". Dual batteries mounted in middle of boat. I guess its the helm station and sink area in the cabin that makes it heaver on that side.

Well, at least we have a solution, and you aren't seeing things. Per report, and per engineering, this model shows a starboard side list. Bet the Wellcraft of the same length/design/fab/year run exhibits the same. SB can offer final judgment.

List is a common problem on many boats, big boats included. Shift the weight to fine-tune.

Fill a pickle bucket (5 gallons) and place it opposite of the helm as far outboard as it will go. Then do another.  That would be about 90 lbs.  Report back, then we'll have the final fix...
