Things he left out:
1) Before removing lower unit make shure that throttle is in the Neutral position.
2) When replacing the top of the water pump ( cover and cup ) spin the driveshaft in CLOCKWISE direction to properly seat the impeller.
3) When lining up the driveshaft and reinstalling the lower unit be sure to check that the shifter shaft is seated correctly and the plastic tube slips over the metal water tube in the midsection.
4) When seating the lower unit you will get some resistance during the last 1/2 - 1/4 inch. This is OK; as the rubber seal at the bottom of the plastic tube needs to be pressed around the metal water tube which fits inside. Go ahead and tighten bolts to seat unit.
