1985 -170 Osprey- Hey Wilson come by and see it!
« on: October 03, 2005, 01:33:07 PM »
Hi Folks,

Just picked up a storm damaged 1985 170 Osprey.  What a wreck but also what great potential.  Never had a 170 before.  It's a cute boat.  Great classic lines and looks like an awsome little fishing boat. It has some significant damage and I think that the best way to repair it may be to remove the entire cap and deck as one piece.  Is this possible?  Has anyone ever done this?  The deck and inner liner are in good shape so I was trying to avoid cutting the deck apart to patch the hull damage.  Transom will have to be replaced and was thinking about raising it to 25" insted of redoing a 20".  I don't know if I'll keep the boat but if I do, I am not interested in a full transom.  Anyone raised the transom to 25" on a 170?  Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Keith
