191 vs 196
« on: July 26, 2010, 09:12:58 AM »
Hi guys, i been through the website and saw some of those brochure pdf's on the 191 (limited info).   The 196 has a bit more info, but I was wondering if I could get a history (timeline) on the hull design.

IE When is the flatback era vs the mod  V......and what year did the 196 change from the open gunwales , to the interior liner?

When did the bow rails first start getting put on?

Thanks.

As far as I know the 19-1 was out a very short time. Approx. 1968 to 1971 or 72.  Also the 19-1 is not a true flatback, it has more of a rounded deadrise.

The 19-6 seem to have started in 1970.  To my knowledge all 19-6's from the 70's till present have the 12 degree deadrise. Every 19-6 made after 1975 has the closed gunwales/interior liner and a taller cap.

The bow rails were just an added option.
