Replacing the deck and weight
« on: July 08, 2010, 05:18:06 PM »
Ok guys I'm replacing my deck. On my 222 ccp. Just getting to may soft spots. So here is my question. Is their a second layery of glass? You know, the top layer of glass, the wood, then a second layer of glass, between the deck wood and the stringers.

My other question is somthing I know some of you have already done. The coffin box in front of the console. I moved it one day to clean under it. Man is that thing heavy. Does anyone know its weight? I know some of you have taken it out and i'm thinking about removing it as well. Replacing it with a large ice chest, which has got to be alot lighter. Would save on gas.

Don't understand why the imge isn't showing up.

I have no clue what the coffin weighs but that sucker is really heavy.  I almost blew a gasket trying to get it out of my CCP by myself.  I replaced mine with a 90 qt. Igloo with a cushion crossways right in front of the console and then mounted a 162 qt. Igloo longways like the coffin box.  I used the 90 for almost dry storage and seating.  I used the 162 for a fish box.  I had room to walk all the way around the 162 and the people seated on the 90 could use it for a foot rest.  I still had access to the front floor hatch as well.  Both coolers weighed much less than the coffin.

john you got that right. Man when I unbolted it and tried to get it out. I stopped and said no way. I think when I do remove it. I will take it to a friends house and use his over head hoist. All I have to do is drive under that.

Yea What did I do wrong and you did right?

seabob4 It had a name on it as well as Aquasport 222 ccp. I took it off. I saw a thread on here to make a new logo. I'm going to use that. It worked out well. I was going to ask what you guys do. When I found that thread. As for the name. I don't think I will do anything yet. I'm really not finished with th outside painting. Before I put the last two coats on. I want to do the deck. Don't want to mess up the hull finish when removing the deck.

Probably got a space in the code.  If it's not "exactly", it won't come up...

I just copied your http address into my search bar, pasted it back into my reply, then made sure my BBCode was correct...

Ok  :thumleft: gotcha Yea that wouldn't look bad.  :thumright:  sence I'm a flyfisherman    (thats why the tee top is as little as I could find.) I was thinking of a fly line in mid cast with a deciever fly. I have a friend that is a master with a air brush.
