I live in Central Florida.  New Jersey NO WAY! I put in from Ft Desoto to Keaton Beach on the west and from Sebastian Inlet to Stuart on the east.

Sebastian...on a tide change...oooohhhh boy!

I lived on the southside of Orlando for 10 years, then built a house in Ocoee...used to work for Lockheed-Martin, then known as Martin-Marietta.  Sand Lake Road and International Dr.
My cousin and her husband and my Uncle all worked for MM and I think at the same location. small world

Bump,
Worked at the plant on Sand Lake just a 1/2 mile east of International Dr from Sept. '81 until Sept. '94.  What was there name?  Yeah, it is a small world!  I met one of Teak Isle's reps a couple of years ago who is married to the woman who had a kid with the guy I used to work side by side with over the course of those 13 years...go figure!

SeaBob,
Is there a vendor you can steer me toward that made the rear jump seats? I am also in need of the stainless steel mounts that bolt to the gunwale. Thx

G.G. Schmitt made the frames and the circular bases for us.  Contact the Sarasota number.  If they have kept records, they should still be able to make them.  Ospreys and Explorers used the same seats...

Hey Bob,
My brother used to live down there I think it was Sandlake road off International, where they built a bunch of nice subdivisions back in there?  They moved a few years ago up to Lady Lake, to get away from some the traffic and whirlwind of Orlando... He is still the closest to home, (Ft. Pierce) for us up here in Pcola, it's a long haul.  Have a good 4th weekend, we may cruise the ICW to Destin on Sunday depending on weather, 40 miles each way should be a good run.

Bob,
I have an electrical issue. I replaced both batteries. The lead to battery #1 from the on board battery charger was broke. I replaced the in line fuse holder and reconnected. Tested new batteries all was well. I charged the batteries over night through the on board charger. The next morning turned the perko disconnect to #1. When I attempted to raise the outboard there wasnt enough power to do more than make a low clicking noise. Attempted to start outboard with the same results just clicking. When I try to start outboard it also pulls the current from the gauges because they go completely dim. Tried all of the above on battery #2 with the same results. Checked all connections again. I hooked another 15amp smart charger to each battery individually. Both batteries where very low. They are now pulling only 2.3 amps from the charger down from 10.1 initally. Still nothing. I hooked up my volt meter to each battery one at a time and attempted to start the outboard. the results are just a clicking noise like a low battery gives but the volt meter barely shows any draw 3 to 4 10ths of a volt during my attempts at starting. Both batteries read 12.7 to 13.1 static. What went wrong? I can't understand why the batteries went dead over night in the first place unless there is a problem with the on board charger. The perko disconnect was off during all charging attempts.  :shaking:  Thanks

Yeah, Marc, Sand Lake west of International, going out towards Windemere and Bay Hill...my old stomping grounds when nothing was there...

This is a bit weird.  First, feel your cables when your cranking.  Do they get warm?  This may be because of loose connections on the back side of the switches or on the batts.  The motors are trying to pull amps to start, but the loose connection is not letting the amperage pass, so the cables warm up.  You should see a voltage drop of 1.5-2.0 volts during starting...

Anybody else?

I would say try to check where youre voltage is not present while start or use your tilt
that is probaly your bad connection
because if your battery is in ok condition that will be the problem
some times it can be the battery terminal slight corroded you can charge the battery but not pull the big amps that you need for start
check the battery itself when you start on voltage if good the terminals and so on untill you find the big drop that is the culpritt

good luck

Hi,
Thanks for all the input. It turned out to be several items. Number one the ignition switch shorted out. Number two all of the battery cables needed replacing all the way to the outboard. Bob you should find this interesting. The battery cables that were installed were for a 115 yamaha. I have a 200.  The new ones are 2 gauge about double the size. They were corroded all the way through the insulation. I guess Aquasport was really cutting corners in the last days. I am just glad to have it repaired. Thx again for all the suggestions. :bounce:  :D   :D
