Looking for something that I can't find
« on: July 01, 2010, 05:16:31 PM »
I just bought a 1987 Osprey 200 and it is missing the placard that tells the capacity of the boat.  Such as number of passengers and weight limits.  If anyone knows where I can find one for my boat I would be greatly appreciative.

I've looked high and low for my 91WAC but no luck.

Someone here may at least get you a photo but a replacement :?:  :?:  :?:

Good luck in your hunt.

I've had the same luck as Capt. Bob in trying to find a replacement plate for my 170.

There was a guy that was making stickers but his site is no longer up.  :(

I found this which can be used as a guide if you want someone to fabricate one for you. http://newboatbuilders.com/pages/labels.html

Good luck and lets us know if you have better success!

This is the reason I took pics of skoot's placard. Yeah I know its a 75 model and its a 19-6 but its kinda close.
Hope this will help!

Thank you for the help.  I have been looking and just can't find anything.  Does anyone know the website to Aquasport, or a phone number that I might be able to call?  This really stinks, cause in Jersey if you don't have it you aren't legal.  I don't know if it is the same in other states, but I don't like the idea of not being legal.  Thanks again for the help.

Sean,
Call the local CG office and the Marine Patrol.  Tell them about the age of your boat and the fact that the company went out of business 5 years ago.  Ask them their advice.  They are usually helpful, but there are a ton of companies that have went out of business over the years that the boats they built are still plying the Jersey waters... :thumleft:

What is the actual overall length?  Unless I'm mistaken you don't need the label if it's over 20'.

I made up one that's reasonably close for my 1977 170. The styles changed between years. Also, BIA and NAEBM merged to form NMMA for certification so the logos changed.
