Another Question
« on: May 28, 2010, 12:43:33 PM »
Inside the cabin on my 225 Explorer there is what looks like a standard 110 volt outlet.  What is it?  Does my boat have a way to convert 12v power to 110v?

Since you didn't mention the year, try this link posted by Bob C.
http://classicaquasport.com/smf/index.php?topic=5526.0

I looked at the 04-05 Aqua Manual under section 4.1 Electrical.
Read through this and see if you can relate anything to your model. Remember, this is for all models so some stuff doesn't apply.

Kinda sounds like a GFI outlet for a blender  :alcool:

There is also a 96-97 manual, so you should be able to get some idea where to start.
Bob C. will be along soon.

The 96-97 manual doesn't indicate a shore power system.

Bob C. to the white phone.

Retimlap,
Your boat was never offered from the factory with shorepower...which isn't to say somebody didn't "attempt" it.  I worked on a boat once in Tarpon where a guy had pulled 120VAC off his battery charger to power up outlets in the cabin when he plugged his charger into an extension cord.  Not the correct way!

If there is no shorepower inlet, the PO may have been using an inverter to provide power to the outlet, which is a completely acceptable way to get 120VAC.  Is there any evidence that one exists, or existed?  I'm assuming the outlet is somewhere in the cabin sink area.  Let us know.
