1995 Catalog on CD
« on: May 17, 2010, 03:35:57 PM »
Somebody was going to send me a 1995 Aquasport catalog scanned to a CD but it never arrived and I don't remember who it was. I would like to get it and am quite willing to pay for it.

Bob,
That was me.

It's made and I just haven't sent it out. No pay is necessary.

My excuse.
My life as been altered as of three weeks ago and my priorities have changed. Unfortunately several members, yourself included, were placed on the back burner.
I need to send them out this week and will try.

Thank you again for the catalog.

I was happy to see that they used fiberglass stringers so I don't have to worry about rot in them:-)

I wonder how the transoms were made, I suppose fiberglass over plywood.

Really enjoying all of the good information in the catalog.

The best to you.

I think you'll find that the transom is poured to the top of the horizontal parts of the transom.  Anything higher than that is wood - at least on my 92 it appears that way.  When lifting my 230 off the trailer to take care of the bottom the lifting eye started pulling through on the port side.  After tapping away for a while trying to see what the rest of the transom was like we found that the wood was bad going down from the lifting eye to a point and then everything was fine sounding - about equal to the horiz point of the top of where the motor mounts.  I've seen some rebuilds on other sites that showed this same thing.

Mine was exactly the same on the CCP.
Water must have entered from the port lifting ring. I moved the ring to the top (never used it for lifting) and replaced the rotted wood section and re-glassed.
Nothing fancy back in 96 but it has held up.
