First time out....
« on: May 16, 2010, 06:44:56 PM »
I posted a while back about buying my first boat.....an 04 Aquasport Osprey 200 (Tournament Edition).  Despite 20 - 25 knot winds we had north of Boston yesterdat my friend and I decided to launch and stay close to shore for some flounder.  This was my first voyage with the new boat (other than the sea trial).  The boat handled the 2 foot chop really well when we had to run across the open parts of Salem Sound.  Got some spray flying up in the face at time but that's obviously to be expected.  The F115 Yamaha on the back of this rig seems to be more than adequate power.  Having the boat out in these conditions and having it perform well made me feel even better about choosing an AS.  The only really tough part of the day was getting the boat back on the trailer in a stiff cross wind.  I'm a newbie at the ramp and it took about 10 tries to get it up on the trailer!

I'm lovin' AS!

- By the way, only 2 flounder.  Winds were way to strong to drift so we had to set up on the anchor.  Next time.....

Every time will seem easier with the trailering.
