CCA's required to crank Suzuki DF140?

Hey guys-

I can't seem to find a clear answer to this question- hoping someone here could help me out.  Battery in my boat is done (and it's still relatively new  :x ).  Can anyone tell me what the recommended Cold Cranking Amps would be for a 08' Suzuki DF140??

My advice is to buy the biggest battery that will fit. Atleast a group 27 or 29 with atleast 875 CCA`s. If your battery is under the console and connected using some Size 0 or 1 cable for that 10 or so feet to the motor, I would get a 900-950 CCA. I have twin 115`s with batteries under the console with two 750 amp batteries that are barely enough with big clean size 1 cables. I`m switching to group 29 900CCA for the juice.

Been trying to download the DF140 Manual to no avail.  Anyway, I use an Excide Nautilus group 24, 1000 MCA, 800CCA.  Can't go wrong, takes care of Verados as well...

Yeah I had the same problem  

I know it seems obvious that the more CCA's you have the better, but the problem I was running into was whenever I would find a battery that had more than around 600CCA's, it became very big (like the size of a deep cycle), and most of the batteries I found were dual deep cycle/cranking batteries.  I don't want a dual battery as I already have a dedicated deep cycle and the bigger batteries wont fit in my cranking battery box under the console.

Good news is I found an Interstate Marine cranking battery with 1000CCA's that's nice and small and fits perfectly in my battery box.  It was a tad pricey but it's exactly what I needed.  Problem solved :)
