Hey guys,
working on a 1985 30 HP Evinrude for a friend, trying to remove the foot. Unlike the larger OMC motors I have worked on, this one does not have a clevis and pin connection under the powerhead that you would remove to release the shift rod. THE POS Seloc or Clymers? manual showed dropping the foot down a little and there would be a screw you could access between the midsection and foot seperation area which releases the shift rod, but that is not the case. Up top the shift lever shaft goes through a journal and connects to the top of the shift rod somewhere under the powerhead but inside the lower cowling which appears un accessible without removing the powerhead? A diagram on Iboats shows a circlip on the shift lever shaft, and a flat end which apparently engages the rod to move it up or down. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Marc
