Trailer?

My '79 Aquasport 22-2 Family Fish(O/B FFV) is sitting on an older Shoreline single axle trailer.I'm looking to replace this trailer with maybe a Venture tandem axle w/brakes.The info plate on the trailer is not legible so I have no idea as to the GVWR.Can anyone who has a similar size boat please give me some info(GVWR) off thier trailer?
I would get it weighed but it's off the road(not roadworthy) .Thanks.

My 222CCP weighs in at about 4000 lbs with fuel, so I went with a 5600 lb dual axle trailer.  Venture makes a 4700 that would suit your needs well.  You definately want brakes - many states require them now for trailers that gross over 3000#!  Surge-powered discs are the way to go - drums rust up and are a pain...

22FamilyFish, I've got an '88 222 Express Fisherman (single 200hp ob), which I think is very much like your model. GoneFission mentioned the Venture 4700 --- I bought a new Venture bunk 4700 (they also make a 4700 roller) about 4 years back and have been very pleased with it. It's a tandem rig with drum brakes on the front axle (torsion axles), 14" tires. I usually make 2-3 300 mile round trips from northern VA to Ocean City, MD each summer, and I've towed the boat down to Tampa and back -- so far the trailer has given me no problems - to include the drum brakes, but that may be because I don't get to dunk the rig in saltwater nearly as often as I'd like to.

Thank you both for your response.I called my nearest Venture dealer and got some prices today on the 4700 and 5000.It's available in aluminum as well.Thanks.
