AQUASPORT 28 CCC ????
« on: April 19, 2010, 08:39:48 PM »
Hi!!! This is a great place and Im happy to be here.

I am going to look to a Aquasport advertized as a 1985 27 foot Aquasport Center Console but is has a small cabin...

The actual owner is not 100% sure about the year it has two 4 strokes 140HP outboards.

Can some one pls help me to find proper information or tech data on this boat?

What was it called? Good or bad reputation for off shore fishing?

I will take pics tomorrow to post them...any information meanwhile will help me a lot.

Tks!!!

Could be a 281 Osprey.

Definitely no cabin and they weren't made in 85.

Maybe a FF or EX but no cc there.

Hell.....

Welcome aboard GinoB  :!:  :!:
Here is a link to our documentation gallery - to approx '86 or '87 - you see what was available then http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/2871/sort/1/cat/574/page/1
Ospreys and CCP are center consoles, the SP is a dual console and the XF and TM are cabin boats (Express Fishermen) - notice they offerred a 270 then.  Browse around there, look at all the documentation and familiarize yourself before you go - you'll sound like a pro when talking to the owner.

Read completely and try again.

1: Go to your Bucket account (you need one to post photos on this forum), open and double click on a photo you have downloaded to the site.

2. Place cursor on the top left of photo, tool bar will appear, place cursor on EDIT then click on RESIZE

3. In a few moments a new window will open (call it the re-size window) with your photo and a tool bar above it.
Note the photo size in the tool bar.Since this site (Classic Aquasport) only limits posted photos to 800 pix wide X 600 pix long you must re-size it in order to post it. So.....

4. Photo Bucket has preset sizes you can use. They are in a 4:3 ratio and you will notice them in the toolbar just below the width measurement (1022px in this case). Also notice that you can manually enter the pixel size for both width and height. Also note that there are two selections you can make when manually selecting the number of pixels. Unless you're a photo genius
make sure you have the "proportion" button highlighted (little red dot to the left). This keeps your photo in the standard 4:3 ratio mentioned above. Why is this important? Under normal conditions, you hold the camera in the standard position and your photo is taken in the 4:3 ratio. Tilting the camera on end (like your sig pic) alters the width to height ratio. By leaving the proportion button highlighted, you can enter 600 px in the height box and the width will automatically change for a proper photo size.

5. This is where most members screw up. :o After you set the proper size you must do two (2) additional steps. First, click on the APPLY button on the right side of the tool box. Nothing much will seem to happen. Now scroll down and click on the
Replace Original button. It's located underneath and to the right of your photo. If you do not complete this step, you will never place the proper size photo on the Aqua site. This is the thing most members do not do.

6.After clicking on the Replace Original button, the screen will take a few moments to do its thing and a new window will magically appear. Scroll down and look to the left and you will notice several options for "sharing your photo". Click on the bottom one and notice how a little yellow box appears to the left saying "copied".

That's it, you're done.
Go back to your post and place your re-sized photo into the post where you want it by pushing "Ctrl + V" (at the same time) and it will appear as code. By previewing your post before submitting, you can check that you did everything correctly.

Try it. You'll like it.

You're not reading everything. :?

Looks like a  Family Fisherman converted to a center console (rather than side) control.

Seems. is a bit more complex...

Here is another one, looks the same. Check this...

24' Aquasport Center console w/ cuddy cabin
24' Aquasport Center console w/ cuddy cabin Nice console and cuddy cabin to store your gear or take a nap. Decks redone and solid, less than 50 hours on 200hp motor rebuilt by Yamaha certified mechanic, all wiring redone, hydraulic steering, trim tabs, VHF, CD stereo, depth recorder, dive ladder & small platform, live bait well, trailer, solid boat ready to fish or dive today. Lobster season fast approaching & I have too many boats. Interesting trades considered. 305-304-2928. Fred http://www.us1radio.com/images/bizbaz/a ... %20011.jpg

Aquasport did make a few 246CCC for Center Console Cuddy - but I don't think this is one.  I agree that this looks like a 246 Family Fisherman (FF) that has had the windshield and seats removed and a center console installed.  The port on the side of the cuddy gives it away - that was an option only on the FF.  Others have done this, and it works out pretty well with the 24 footer.

How about some pics of the console and inside of the hull?  I wonder if someone found an Aquasport console or installed something else...

Hope this helps - good luck!

Now that you mention it GF (and CB) the angled pic looking from the bow aft you can see where the windsheild would mount on the flat part of the cap - by the end of the railing.
Still a nice looking boat :thumleft:
Gino look at the back of the transom starboard side for the HIN stamped in the hull right below the rubrail area - show us what is stamped there.

Im totally lost with this one.

I concur.

It appears you are not re-sizing your photos. Read #5 from my thread, carefully.
Then try and post a new pic.

As far as the boat length goes...
It doesn't appear to be 28' long to me.

Im taking more extensive pics tomorrow to post them.

Lets say is a 27" 28".

How much does it weight? Does 2 x 140HP Suzukis should be fine?

We went for a fast test yesterday...the engines run great... 6200RPM at tops....the electronics are DOWN...I took the time beetween some known points and seems to be crusing at 34...full seems to be 45.

Do you think this engines are ok for this one?

Hey GinoB

That looks like a 25' CCP with a foward Cuddy.  They made a few of those.  I doubt that it is 27' or 28' unless a bracket has been added and they are including the bracket in the measurement.  The cap is the giveaway.  That's a CCP cap.  The 271 and 281 osprey had caps similar to 222 the Osprey. Not at all like the ones in the picture and the side console has an "Osprey" style cap.  If you go to my photo galery, there are pictures of a 281 Osprey.  It has a raised deck in the front with storage and I suspect that your deck is all one level typical of the CCP.  My guess is a 25 CCP and 6200 rpm means you have the wrong props.

I have an old brochure book from 1980.  I am 100% sure this boat is the 246 CCC (Center Console Cabin) as per the brochure.  I realize this boat is 5 years newer but this is what you have.  By the way, this is a great vessel and basically the CCP with a cabin.
