Looking at my 205, i'm thinking the bow rail makes the boat look dated.
Besides it does get in the way of casting for stripers etc.....has anyone removed the rails ?
Could the rail just be cut as close to flush as possible  and caped @ the gunnal penatrations ?

I don't know much about a 205 but sounds intresting. I agree, I like a bow rail on larger boats but not on midsize. On the older hulls it kind of masks the shear lines of these hulls. In saying that,

Plugger,
That rail obviously is t/bolted.  If you don't mind cutting a couple of holes for 4" access pies in the inwales on each side, you can access the bolts holding the studs in place and remove the whole rail intact, which someone might want.
