1973 170 fuel lines

Hello, I just purchased a 1973 170 w/ a 1975 85hp evinude. I pulled the gas tank because the fellow was running it off a portable in the back. Does anybody know how the original lines were run from the pick up to the motor? The fill tube and vent tube were still in tact. but the one going to the motor was cut off.  The tank was full of water but I think it was from the guage being loose. I plan on pressure esting the tank , cleaning the well it sat in and reinstalling it.  Any idea of waht kind off foem to put back in it? I thought that I could use great stuff or maybe nothing, does there have to be anything?
 Well any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hello northguy :) Don't know if it will help you much but I just pulled the tank on my 1988 170.  I have all of the dimensions and location of fittings but I don't know if they would correspond to your year.  Will be happy to e-mail them to you if you need them.  As far as the new tank goes, I don't intend to pack it with foam.  As a matter of fact mine tank just sits in a tub under the deck.  The only foam that I had was under the straps which secure the tank.  I have learned over the years that when moisture hits the foam the corrosion will start.  I don't plan to put those back on because they cause the corrosion.  I just plan to set the new tank right back in the tub and place something on the deck to get the tank off of it.  Haven't figured that one out yet Hope this will help you.

I had looked at some of your pics any other help would be appriciated. I like the idea of not putting the foam back in, I wonder what the purpose was in the first place? Also I wonder if I could take the tub out, cut it around the top to inspect the stringers than glass it back in?
