I saw your boat and laughed, damn near identicle. Bought it last june, had some good trips, believe it or not that boat was 70 miles off shore serching for tuna three times (east coast, New Jersey). Now, I must say we do not go alone, my buddy has a 23' wellcraft and we run together. So combined we have 48' of boat (this is what I tell my wife) hell, when you pass ten miles and sink your not making it back anyway. Boat is currently getting an enclosure, then we will do the "to do list" and be in the water at the latest April 1.

I bought my 250 XF 7 years ago.
With the boat I never had any greater problem, but with the old Evinrude 150.
Until now I never went off the coast more than 10 miles. When I bought it I brought it home by sea ( aprox 100 miles ) along the coast, it was a nice trip. ( Barcelone to Tortosa ( L'Ampolla) )
Too I went up the Ebro River to Tortosa from the sea, it was a good " cruise ".
As I changed the motor a month ago, this summer I'll be able to make some adventures.
With the new motor ( Suzuki DF 225 ) the boat run awfully well, before the cruising speed was 17 mph, now its 26 with much less fuel consumption.
I like the walkaround hull, it perfect for family trips with children.

17, that is terrible. You must have had some dead cylinders. I top out at 33 MPH WOT, we cruise 23/25 @ 3,800/4,000 RPM with a 1994 Evinrude ocean pro 225 and get almost 2.25 miles to the gallon. I will run out of daylight before I run out of gas. What is your prop pitch and WOT RPM's?

The data are cruising speed, with the old rude I got 30 mph ( 26 knots ) top speed ( it was a 150 HP ), with the zuke I get 42 mph ( 37 knots )  top speed.
At cruising I achieve 3,8 mpg on top speed I get 3 mpg.

In order to see if You have foam beneath the bunks, take out the fridge, it's fixed with only 4 screws.

Stephen,
I like your top end speed and your MPG. These new motors are really something on their performance. When I re power I am thinking of 300 HP. The boat should fly. Thanks for the frige idea, I will give it a try.
