Rigging a Tower

Can rotary steering be used in a dual station setup? If so how is it done. I have seen how the hydraulic setup is done. I'm new to this so just asking before I jump in to deep.

That is something I'd like to see...

I've done a ton of hyd installs, NEVER seen a cable install... :shock:

CBULLs, first, Welcome Aboard!

Teleflex (mechanical) steering has always been just that. Relatively short runs, easy curves, between one helm wheel directly to the engine(s).

Hydraulic steering on the other hand has the ability, since early inboard install, to accommodate multiple stations. Heck, not unusual to see flybridge, cockpit, and salon steering on the big boys, even way back when. You're running two hydraulic lines of small diameter, from here to wherever, without regard to bends (within reason) if you can maintain pressure.

Jason,
Your looking at somewhere around $1500, you do the install.  BTW, you'll need a 3rd line, the compensating line running between the helm pumps...

2 helms, 1 cylinder, lines running from the cylinder to lower station, lines running from lower to upper, dual station fitting kit.

Look for the helms and cylinder on eBay, but don't buy any old :*:.  Teleflex stamps there products with a date stamp, they'll allow 90 days from the date stamp.  So whatever you buy, ASK ABOUT THE DATE STAMP!  If they tell you they don't know what your talking about, move on... :thumright:
