Anyone with a E115 on a 170? Prop suggestions?
« on: August 03, 2009, 02:15:05 PM »
I have a older (84) Evinrude 115 on my 170-- I have a 14x17 (i think that's the numbers) on the back.

Questions--
I have an aluminum prop now... would changing to a SS make a big difference?
If conditions are right, and I'm the only one on the boat, top down, etc, I can get ~ 37 @ WOT.

Would I benefit from a SS prop, or another size/pitch?
Thanks for your help! I don't know of any good prop shops in my area...

I have an older 115 Evinrude on my 170 as well.  I spun a hub in my SS Prop so I had to put on my spare aluminum one.  I did notice that my speed decreased with the aluminum one.  I'm no expert though.
