mississippi gulf coast 19-6
« on: May 13, 2009, 09:20:35 AM »
new to the sight and any thing bigger than a 14' skiff!

I just bought this boat a month ago to rebuild her
standerd classic rotten transum and floor. I have already  cut out
transum and the floor and pulled out the gas tank. I hope to put
the tank back in tonight and start on the transum this weekend
weather permitting. this boat has a very good hull and I replaced the
trailer  with one from a 1982 bayliner.  I am looking for the casting deck
compartment lids mine are broken and too bad to fix.   help!!!!

                              thanks T     :D

Last night I put the gas tank back in. Today I have to go pick up
a new fuel fill hose the old one was ont rated for fuel it was for
exhaust/water. I need some info on how to ground the tank it
was not grounded when I pulled it out. Going to have my kids on
the boat! And we don't want to go BOOM! I'm also going to pick
up the materials to start the new closed in transum. If we can
get it cut in my Uncle has a large enough shead I can put her
inside to get the transum glassed in.

The tank should have a metal tab on it with a #8 or #10 screw hole.  There should also be a metal filler cap on the starboard gunwale.  You want to run a wire connected to one of the mounting screws on the filler cap via a ring terminal to the metal tab on the tank, given the tab is still there.  Make sure to heat shrink your connections, and you'll be fine.

Baseball was rained out so I worked on the boat last night
I ran the plumming for all the wiring and just to  make sure
I installed two 12' 2x6's the length of the stringers to the
transom then I pre drilled and installed 4" brass screws
it really seams to be strong

I would like to know how many different 19-6 hulls were
made mine is a 74 but the keel in the front is different than
most of what I see here if I could ever get pictures up I
could show you what I mean but my home computer is
offically a dead duck they told my wife to buy a new one
some type of virus infected the hard drive so sorry no pics
any time soon        :(

Does yours look like this? Also what is your Hin # and I'll add it to my list of 19-6s on the 19-6 registry!
