I've seen these in a few pics of 170s...
Where do you find them?
How do they affect ride?

The ones I had on mine I removed and Badonquasport196 is taking

very hard to find.

When I removed mine it seemed like they acted like trim tabs a bit, I did notice it was little harder to get out of the hole and longer to get on plane. I have since added a hydrofoil and has gotten it back to what it was like with the live wells on it.

Hope this helps you some.

I wonder if the optional stern mounted livewells were the same size and shape for the 170 & 19-6?

There doesn't seem to be much information on them...

Yeah, it would be nice to find SOME sort of livewell in the back of the boat!
Buckets aren't a very clean solution!   I guess a cooler w/spraybar might be the next best thing.

Fishy-

I believe there was an option in the 70's to add either the stern-mount style livewells, or to place boxes in the stern inside the cockpit.  But... that doesn't really help you much now...

The great thing about the boxes- if you set them up correctly, you shouldn't have to use an aerator pump at all.  They're very simple and work great.

I could trace the mounting side of my boxes and mail the sketch to you if you'd like

OR

you could probably trace the stern yourself and make them.  They're very simple after all...  I believe at least one member (REELCLIMAX) has made some of his own-

Good Luck!  :salut:
