Welcome aboard mobjack22 :!: :!:
Is there wood in the floor? Probably - end grain balsa
Is there wood in transom? - 50-50 chance at that time.
Is there wood in stringers? No
Are there any particular issues with this model? None that I've heard
Are there any particular issues with this vintage of Aquasport? Nope
What should I be looking for in making my decision?
Look it over good for any obvious hull damage (it is 22 yrs old so it won't be brand new).
Look for odd looking reflections in the hull - signs of repair.
Bounce up and down on the raised motor and watch the transom for flex - shouldn't be any to speak of. Bring a rubber mallet and smack the transom all over and listen for different sounds.
Look for soft spots in the floor and if you find any, evaluate what is the extent and how hard to repair.
Start the engine - check the compression or take it to a mechanic.
Take it for a test run with the owner - watch what he does if anything special. See how the boat rides, sits in the water, how the motor runs. T&T work? Planers? Do they work?
Look at the gauges - do they all work.
Look at and inquire about electronics included. They'll never be what you really want but are a good start anyway
Look at the dates on the batteries.
Look at the trailer and it's condition.
Offer what you think it's worth.
