Aquasport 175 "Osprey" "Classic" Design

I am considering a purchase of a 1997 AS 175.  I have seen different names used to describe the 1997 model I am looking at: Aquasport 175, Osprey 175, Osprey 175 Classic, so on.    Are these all the same model boat or is their a "Classic" model 175 which has a different hull configuration.    They all look the same to me but I don't want to find out later that I bought the wrong boat.    I like the sleek, long, low looks of the boat.    I don't want to find out that I accidentally purchased a taller profile boat when I meant to purchase the sleek looking profile.   Are they all the same thing?

Hi Doug,
The older Ospreys (60, 70's and early 80's) had little freeboard in the back, open afts, little to no deadrise and the sides were usually around knee high.  
The newer models started enclosing the aft, sharpening the deadrise and deepening the sides to around thigh high.
If you want the feeling of security plus the sharper "v", get a newer one, otherwise get the "classic".

Rick,  Thanks for the reply.  Let me clarify one thing.   There is a slight difference between say a 1970 and a 1997.   But within the 1997 model year, they only made one type of AS 175?  Is that right?

That's correct - an Osprey is an Osprey.  Now if they made another 175 model, say a Dual Console, then that is a different matter.
