SR 188 V
Owner claims it's a SR 188 V.  That model is listed on NADA for 1981, but I've never heard of it or seen one.  Also not in the 1981 catalog.  Anybody got any ideas?

The hull bottom looks aquasport-esque. Probably is one, they dabbled in some other style hull designs in the early 80's. The had the Xscape models that looked nothing like any aquasports I've ever seen. There was derelict boat sitting at the local walmart parking lot with $200 on the front windshield and no phone number, not trailer lock etc. for weeks. It looked like this hull but with a closed bow and was labelled as an xscape by aquasport.

Xscape

The Xscape was typically a tri-hull; there are pix on this site:

Looks like the SR stands for "Sport Rider" and the 188 was a 19 foot I/O or outboard bow-rider runabout.  Looks like it was only made in 1980 and 1981.  The one on eBay has been converted to a center console, but they left the bow partition in and just removed the windshield.  If you look on the eBay listing, you can see the bow seats are still up there.  Looks like someone removed the back-to-back seats in the cockpit area and put a console in...

I saw the bow seats still there but would never of guessed they put a center console in.
New one on me too.

I kind of like it.  Plenty of seating space.
Was that model a deep V?

The one I saw was not a tri hull, but a enclosed bow v-model like the one in this brochure. The hull lines look identical.

Xscape

It looks like Aquasport made 2 Xscape models - the 180 as a tri-hull and the 190 as a deep-V.

No wonder they changed the name of the deep-V model to Sport Rider in 1980-1981; it would be too easy to confuse the 180 tri-hull Xscape with a very different 190 deep-V model!

I don't think the Xscape series sold well - never seen many of them. Aquasport was known for fishing boats, not thong cruisers.

I was confused as y'all when I saw it on ebay.  Couldn't figure out how the boat had a bowrider front and a center console rear.  Fortunate for me, the wife wanted a bowrider and I wanted a CC so it worked out well.  The conversion was done well and you can't really tell that it was a BR.  All in all it's a great boat.  I had her on Lake Ponchatrain for about 3 hours yesterday.
